Uncle Rocky, Fireman #6 - "Face Mask"
(A Story Of Color)
(A Story Of Color)
As a young firefighter, the chief attempted to rescue a man from the fifth floor of a burning tenement building in New York City. The man was so scared he would not step out onto the ladder to safety. What the Chief did next to rescue the man amazed Bob and Big Joe and impressed Uncle Rocky.
This book would not be possible without Mr. Artie Falk of FDNY Ladder Company 24 who conducted this rescue and Patricia, his daughter, who proudly told me the story. |
Reader Quotes:
Action and adventure perfectly suited for my impressionable child. I enjoyed reading this book as much as he did! Just the kind of book I have been looking for. |
As an educator and parent, I love the fact that the story talks about how doing the right thing may take courage. As a minister, I enjoyed credit being given to God! What a wonderful story. |
Jim, the books we purchased are quite worn. Our boys really like them. They were impressed that we "actually" knew you. I will gladly review your new book....is it okay if I read it to the boys? Again, thanks for writing the books. Our older boys have ADHD and learning disabilities and your books kept their attention. |
This is another great Uncle Rocky adventure from James Burd Brewster. In this one the chief shares his most memorable rescue. As in each of the stories, the kids are encouraged to act out the turnout gear sequence. I love how the stories keep my boys' attention and each one emphasizes the value of helping each other. These are some of my boys' favorite stories. I highly recommend them. |
The Uncle Rocky stories are great for kids of all ages! Face Mask is an inspiring story with a great lesson behind it. These stories can help your child build honor and respect for those who serve in public service positions. |
I brought a set of Uncle Rocky, Fireman books this summer and they are now quite worn. Our older boys have ADHD and learning disabilities and your books kept their attention. They love the books and have read them over and over. Thanks for writing the books! |
