Aunt Louise Comes to Visit

​​Aunt Louise visits twice a year,
always dressed, in shoes, bag,
and hat to match.
 
And every time she visits,
she brings the girls,
a very special snack.
 
But this time she has forgotten it,
or to the girls, it so seems.
 
They wonder if they’ll miss the pleasure,
of eating treats,
of which they’ve dreamed.

Katie Spivey Brewster was raised in Wilmington, NC, married Jim Brewster from Slingerlands, NY, and home educated five children (Ben, Luke, Rachel, Andrew, and Sam). Katie has fond memories of growing up surrounded by a largish family (3 girls, 2 boys) plus many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is currently Nana to eight grandchildren.
